Application Information and Forms
Instructions for Making Applications to the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Graduate Studies
Fill out the application form and send to address noted below.
Have the Educational Testing Service send us an official report of your Graduate Record Exam scores. We require that you take the GRE Aptitude Test; however, we urge you to also take the GRE Advanced Biology Test. WE also suggest that since it takes at least six weeks and sometimes much more for the official GRE reports to reach us, you might like to submit a Xerox of your "Student Copy" of the scores. This would at least enable the Admissions Committee to evaluate your application while waiting for the official scores to arrive. We require a total combined score of 300 on the Verbal and Quantitative segments as a minimum for consideration.
International Students: International students must submit scores for both the Graduate Record Exam and the Test of English as a Foreign Language. The TOEFL must be taken unless the applicant has received at least a Bachelor's degree from an American university.
Have one (1) copy of your official transcript sent to us from each college or university you have attended. Transcripts which show transfer credit from other colleges you have attended are not acceptable. Also if foreign transcript, global credential evaluating must be done. Recommended companies are ECE, WES, and GCE.
International students, please note: we require that the transcripts be sent directly from the Registrar's Office of your university directly to this office on Official Letterhead Stationary of your University. Transcripts issued to students are not considered official.
Have at least two (2) letters of recommendation sent to us (preferably from professors who have taught you in the basic sciences). Use the " Recommendation of Applicant" forms provided by LSU.
All of the above should be sent to:
