The Department of Pathology is composed of an outstanding faculty of 28 faculty members, 12 residents, 3 fellows, and almost 200 administrative and laboratory staff. We provide diagnostic services to patients within our hospital system and numerous patients regionally, nationally and internationally via our ever expanding Pathology Outreach Services program. Furthermore, our Pathology Research Division is one of the best grant funded faculty divisions in our institution and is widely recognized for their contributions to science in the goal of continuous improvement of quality patient care both diagnostically and therapeutically.

Our Anatomic Pathology Division and Clinical Pathology Division technical and administrative personnel are not only knowledgeable but highly experienced in their area of expertise and embrace a team approach to quality care, education, and research.

Our Pathology Education and Training Programs consist of both residency and fellowship programs which excel in producing outstanding pathologists. We are proud to provide expert, experienced mentoring in general Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in several specific fields such as Cytopathology, Surgical Pathology, and Nephropathology. Trainees and faculty present at major national and international meetings with their presentations frequently winning awards and recognition.

Our training programs are tailored to the specific needs of our trainees to insure that when they graduate, each is ready to move on to their next position, regardless of whether it is an academic or a private practice job. Historically our graduates have excellent pass rates on board examinations and leave our institution to occupy positions at the best medical centers and private practice groups in the nation. Each fulfills their professional dreams and more, and we are proud to prepare them to successfully handle new challenges as their careers progress.

Many of our clinical faculty members are leaders in their fields and enjoy national and international reputations.
