Patient Visits

We treat any patient in need without regard for their ability to pay. Though we are regarded as a "charity" hospital, we have no "charity" patients, there are simply patients. All are treated with the utmost respect & dignity.

We never turn down any medically necessary transfer unless physically there is no in-patient bed. We accept patients from southern Arkansas, northern Louisiana, and Eastern Texas ~ the "Ark-La-Tex" region.

Watch Us Grow

LSU Health Shreveport received 70 million dollar grant to improve patient care by totally remodeling our current facilities. Groundbreaking occurred in 2006 and we have recently opened the new treatment areas.  The final phase of construction (administrative and resident offices) was completed in mid 2011.

Since completion, LSU Health Shreveport has the latest in ED design incorporating efficient triage, central nursing locations, easy access to computerized records and radiology services with improved resource utilization. This has allowed us to better serve our patients and provide state-of-the-art teaching facilities for our residents and students.
