Simulation Lab

Simulation Lab

LSU Health Shreveport is proud to introduce their Simulation lab for the training of medical students and residents. A total of three simulation suites are available for use. Each suite contains state-of-the -art equipment including sophisticated computers and life-like mannequins. The specialized mannequins are anatomically accurate and demonstrate various clinical signs and scenarios, such as hemorrhage, respiratory and cardiac arrest. The clinician must perform the correct medical intervention, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) with appropriate emergency drug selection and airway resuscitation utilizing mask ventilation and intubation. The computers are capable of a wide array of clinical scenarios and additional equipment is available to further enhance clinical training and skill development.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Simulation lab is to support LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine's educational mission through the use of real-time interactive simulation systems. The lab works closely with departments, course directors, individual faculty and other health care organizations to develop education experiences which utilize simulation.
