A Message from the Dean

As we move into the summer semester, it’s time to turn our attention to something fun and take a little break from studying and tests. July 14th marks the date for the 2nd Annual Painting with a Purpose fundraiser that will be held in the Allied Health Clinic Rehabilitation Gym.

Riding on the overwhelming success of last year’s event, we’ve kept the concept but changed the theme. This year’s event is known as Painting with a Purpose 2.0 – Collegiate Smackdown.” Last year, eleven talented local artists (many of whom were our own faculty) painted an LSU themed work in two hours while attendees bid on the paintings as well as on other silent auction items. We’re ramping it up a notch this year with a friendly collegiate challenge. Artists will be producing works representing schools or college towns from around the state. While there’s likely to be an LSU tiger in the bunch, you might also find a Centenary Gent, Southern Jaguar, McNeese Cowboy, or other great surprises.

In addition to the painting competition and popular silent auction, catering will be provided by McCoy’s Butcher Block and will be tailgate themed. “Stadium friendly” beverages will be supplied as well as a cash bar for those desiring a bit more spirit.

Tickets are on sale now at a bargain and can be purchased by clicking the logo below. Get yours today before the scalping begins!
