A Message from the Dean

As we enter the second half of the semester, spring is in full swing. This means the town is alive with azalea blossoms, but those cursed by allergies are also alive with watery eyes and running noses. We’re a hearty bunch however and we don’t let small things like that slow us down because it crawfish season! April is the time when the SGA sponsors its popular crawfish boil. This is a great time to decompress from midterm exams and projects and just kick back for an enjoyable event.

Many of our students are anxiously anticipating May 26th when they finally get to walk across the stage and receive that diploma they have worked so hard to obtain. This year marks a first for the School of Allied Health Professions. We’ll be holding our own diploma ceremony separate from the Medical School graduation. The decision to separate the ceremonies came about as program class sizes grew, making the attendance much harder to accommodate. This year, we will hold our ceremony at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Medical School will continue to operate out of the Centenary Gold Dome.

As the semester starts to draw to an end, we wish our upcoming graduates great success as they head into the world of employment and to our continuing students heading out on clinical rotations, we hope you learn a great deal and represent our School well.
