Disbursement Deadlines

Some financial aid programs will not allow disbursements for students after their enrollment period has ended. In order to ensure timely processing and have aid disbursed by the end of a specific term, students must have all required federal aid forms or scholarship checks/award information turned in to the Student Financial Aid Office by the date specified for that term. Continuing students that submit applications or scholarships checks after the deadline listed will have the payment processed during the next payment period for the current award/academic year. Awards cannot carry over to the next award year. 

The Financial Aid Office will send a “Notice of Award” by email to a student each time a new award is added in the student system.  Students must also “Accept” awards posted in the Self-Service Portal by the deadlines posted.  Awards not accepted by the deadlines specified will be cancelled on the next business day.  Requests for award disbursements after the deadline will be handled on a case-by-case basis. SEOG, PERKINS LOANS, and LSU HEALTH SHREVEPORT HARDSHIP WAIVERS must disburse prior to the end of the Fall or Spring terms.  Those awards cannot carry over to the Summer term.    

Federal Aid Deadlines apply to these financial aid programs: Pell Grant, SEOG, Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, GradPlus, PLUS Loans, and Private Educational Loans.  The federal aid deadline is used for Private Educational loans because of the lengthy application and disbursement process. 

Non-Federal Aid Deadlines apply to these financial aid programs: Scholarships, Fee Waivers, and Fee Exemptions
