How to submit a study for review
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidance for submitting new studies through the electronic SHIeLDS system can be found in The IRB Study Submission Guide or the SHIeLDS Help page.
Submitting a study for review involves the following major action:
- Entering study information (See Creating a New Study)
- Returning to the study to incorporate changes and information you left out initially. (See Editing a Study)
- Checking the study for errors and omissions. (See Checking the Study for Errors)
- Submitting the study for IRB Review. (See Submitting the Study for Review)
If you have any questions, please contact the IRB administrator at IRBOfficeStaff@lsuhsc.edu regarding the process for submission of new research activities. Please remember that no research activity can began until you receive documentation of the IRB and administrative approvals.
