Investigator Manual

There are different types of research projects that will require IRB review. The types of basic projects are listed below with a brief explanation and the required documents that are requested to be uploaded with the SHIeLDS submission. There are also links provided to worksheets that will assist the investigator through the process of submitting a research project and guidance specific to LSUHSC - Shreveport that are related to the conduct of Human Research. 
Research: A systematic investigation designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge {45 CFR 46.102 (d)}.
Are Human Subjects involved?
Obtaining data by interacting or intervening with living individuals (experiments with drugs or devices; collecting biological samples; surveys, questionnaires, interviews; pretest-intervention-post test;Accessing identifiable private information about individuals (Chart or medical record review, using tissue and data from repositories that contain identifiers.
