Educational Familiarization Program


Students from colleges and universities throughout Louisiana will be selected to participate in a six-week structured Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) review program housed on the campus of Centenary College of Louisiana. The Princeton Review reference materials and instructors will be utilized to assist students with academic preparation. Review courses include: Biology, Physics and Math, Biochemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Psychology and Sociology, and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. Participating students must apply to medical school through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) while attending the program and must also take the MCAT by September of the participating year. The program is schedule to run from June 3, 2019 – July 12, 2019. 

Selection Criteria:

  • Classification: College Junior, Senior or Recent Graduate
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Louisiana Resident
  • Official Transcript
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Six-Week Commitment
  • Interest in attending LSU Health Shreveport, School of Medicine
  • Prior MCAT score(s) below the national average
  • Housing is eligible for non-local students
